Integrating hardware and software, the M1000 Edge AI Family is optimized for industrial applications augmenting existing and new equipment with AI

MILWAUKEE – May 28, 2023 – Dedicated Computing, a leading manufacturer of proprietary, embedded computing systems, today announced the M1000 Edge AI family, its high-performance artificial intelligence acceleration platform for industrial applications. The M1000 is an optimized hardware and software building block for industrial developers focused on video, vision, and data-driven industrial applications. System longevity is a key value in the high-performance platform, with a long purchase lifecycle and availability to industrial integrators and equipment manufacturers. Incorporating a software stack developed and supported by NVIDIA, the M1000 platform contains the supporting software components including a long-term supported software stack with board support package, operating system, and libraries. Runtime layers are included as the primary interface to the end-customer applications.

AI is a new tool in the integrators and design engineers’ toolbox, supporting their experience with more advanced inference performance to improve industrial efficiency. The M1000 platform is initially targeted at real-time inference augmentation for video analytics, product inspection and advanced robotics applications. Dedicated’s Edge AI acceleration platform is derived from the NVIDIA IGX platform and is based on NVIDIA Jetson Orin to deliver 250 AI trillion operations per second (TOPS) and scaling to over 600 AI TOPS with an NVIDIA RTX A6000 GPU. An NVIDIA ConnectX-7 SmartNIC delivers streaming I/O with up to 200GbE connections and GPUDirect RDMA offloads for low-latency data access and processing. Supported by this AI computer and software framework, industrial equipment developers are empowered to envision and create advanced autonomous systems and AI-powered equipment and devices that feature superior image, video, and signal processing. Applications are global and diverse, ranging from product inspection for quality and safety to advanced robotic systems and more.

“Building upon our success with the M1200 and M1300 systems in healthcare—Dedicated Computing has expanded the  NVIDIA SDK Manager offering for the M1000 family making them suitable for customers developing industrial applications where video analytics, product inspection and advanced robotics are the focus,” said Phil Spivey, CEO, Dedicated Computing. “These industrial customers can now leverage the same capabilities of low latency and parallel inference as we expand the software offering to include NVIDIA’s industrial computing-focused CUDA-X AI/ML software libraries and frameworks.”

Dedicated Computing’s building block hardware designs are diverse and proven, keeping the focus on robust data performance and physical durability for the environmental rigors of industrial computing. Decades of expertise includes applications featuring AI, machine vision, and advanced GPU processing in physical security, product inspection, and advanced robotics systems.
